3D Printer Enclosure
We built an enclosure for our stereolithography printers to elimate fumes in the lab. The enclosure was designed to hold 3 stereolithography printers (2 x Miicraft+ and 1 x Wanhao Duplicator 7). The unit is mounted onto a shelf attached to the wall in order to save space and has shelving and mounts for computers and monitors. The enclosure is exhausted into the facilities exhaust ducts which creates negative pressure within the enclosure and prevents fumes from escaping.
Doors and hinges were added to allow easy access to the printers. A doors attached using a magnetic connection which is easy to open yet keeps the doors from unintentionally opening. A UV blocking film was applied to the exterior of the acrylic pannels to prevent any stray light from crosslinking the resin.
The files for the acrylic encosure are available here and 3D printer files are available here. Additional vitamens (M3 screws, nuts and washers) are also needed for assembly. The design can be easily customized for other enclosures or airboxes.
